The Ultimate Motorsport Weekend planning is well underway for Palmerston North International Speedway and Motorsport Manawatu.
The joint running of two iconic events will ensure that the Manawatu will be shaking to the sounds of high performance vehicles over Waitangi Weekend, February 4/5/6 2011.
PN Speedway are celebrating 30 years of the hugely popular teams champs this year and a special dinner on Thursday 3rd February will bring back some great memories of the meetings. Track Manager Bryan Puklowski is looking forward to February.
“30 Years. It is a special time for speedway and a good time to remember where we have come from and a great chance to catch up with everyone. It will be a great night!” stated Mr Puklowski.
As well as the teams champs some older cars will be on display showing the changes over 30 years of Stockcars in New Zealand. Full details of the weekend will be released as the event draws closer.
On the other side of the region, Motorsport Manawatu will be hosting Round 4 of the IRC Summer of Thunder Tour. Conceptualized at Manfeild in March 2009, the IRC is working hard to emulate the success of speedway in New Zealand with a focus on bringing people back to the track to watch what can only be described as a motorsport variety show. With 11 classes on offer, entries are expected to top 230 for the meeting. Motorsport Manawatu manager Julian Hardy can’t wait for February.
