TKR drivers set to battle for top three championship places

Team Kiwi look set to win back to back New Zealand Motorsport Championship Titles this year with only two rounds of the "Group A" New Zealand Production Series Championship for 2010/11 still to be run this year.

TKR driver Ben Dallas goes into the fifth of six rounds at Manfield with a slim points led over fellow TKR driver Craig Innes who is sitting in second position.

Innes has won the championship before in 2009 and Dallas is looking for his first championship title win.

"I just need to keep focused and stay ahead of my team mate to win this championship". said Dallas.

"I had a good start to the season but my TKR team mate Craig Innes has made up ground recently so I need to be on my best form this weekend".

Neither Innes or Dallas can afford a DNF at this critical time in the Championship if they are to win the Championship title as it looks like this years Championship title will come down to the very last race of the season.

The 3rd TKR driver in this years Championship is Matt Gibson who had a slow start to the season with a gear box failure is race one of the first round and a major accident at the Christchurch round.

However Gibson has steadily fought back to be within a few points of being third in the Championship.

"I got a shocking start to the season and have had to play catch up since last round where I felt I held my own for the first time this season".

"The TKR car is running well now and I have got my head around the cars handling characteristics which is showing in my track times and results getting stronger race by race". said Gibson.

The remaining rounds of the 2010/11 Championship Series are Manfield 11th - 13th February and Taupo 11th - 13th March 2011.
