Motorsport fans contribute to West Coast miners fund

At the recent Altherm 500 round of the BNT V8's at Powerbuilt Tools Raceway, the proceeds from the event programmes were donated to the Pike River Miners Relief Fund. The Motorsport Company donated the programmes and spectators were encouraged to contribute to the fund as they made their way into the park for the weekends motorsport entertainment.

Prior to the first V8 race of the Sunday, all competing drivers and officials made their way to the starting grid to observe 1 minutes silence in an emotional mark of respect for those who lost their lives in the mining tragedy.

A cheque for $5261 has been presented to the Pike River fund.
