Auckland's Ryan Grant heads a bumper Mi Sedaap Pro Kart entry set to contest the second round of the 2011 series at the KartSport Tokoroa club's Pinex Raceway this weekend.

Grant dominated the premier 125cc/6-speed gearbox KZ2 class at the opening round of this year's Mi Sedaap series in the Hawke's Bay in February and currently leads teammate Graeme Smyth by four points and third placed fellow Aucklander Ryan Urban by six.

Over 30 drivers entered the first round of the 2011 series and Formula S KartSport club president and spokesman Steve Brown says that number will steadily rise as the year goes on.

"Already this weekend, he says," we're looking at more in the Masters division plus I think you will see us picking up a few extras in our Junior support category, KF3, as we replace the drivers who moved up to the Senior ranks after last year's series."

Hawke's Bay drivers Tom Curran and Mitchell Turner are the other two points leaders heading into Sunday's meeting at Tokoroa, Curran leading the new Masters' class points standings from Aucklanders Mark Lane, Brett Hollander and Steve Cox, and Turner in front in KF3 from Aucklanders Joel Herbert, Connor Westbury and Luke Dobbs.

Sunday's round is the second of five comprising this year's Mi Sedaap Pro Kart Series with the third being hosted by KartSport Auckland at its Moselle Panel & Paint Raceway at the end of May.
