Focus repeats winning success

Photo: Grant Aitken

Grant Aitkens NZNEW Focus RS dominated the C class at the Timaru round of the Production Race Series meeting in the weekend, once again winning the C class round.

In addition, Grants consistent result continues to maintain his second place overall in the championship.

The NZNEW Focus RS was not at its best on the tight Timaru circuit. The track is particularly demanding for a high horsepower front wheel drive car, and the braking effort required on this circuit is extreme. Nevertheless the Focus continued to perform flawlessly, and finished with three strong overall placings, and won its class in all three races.

"A challenging set of races, with considerable panel damage to some competitors, so I am quite pleased to have finished the weekend where we did, maintaining the lead in the class, and still holding second place overall". Grant said.

The series moves on to Manfield Park in the Manawatu for the next round on 11th, 12th, and 13th Feb.
