Big prize money on offer for 2011 SI Endurance Series

For their 2011 Series, the South Island Endurance Series is offering what is thought to be NZ Motorsport's largest prize money pool. Through its long term series Sponsor ASKO Appliances along with its family of class sponsors the Series has managed to secure $30,000 in cash prize money that will be given away to competitors in their 2011 Series, with more cash, more prizes, plus TV coverage still being worked on.

The SIERDC series will again be run over 3 rounds, one at each of the South Island race circuits. Round One will be at Teretonga Park, Invercargill on Saturday 24 September 2011, Round Two at Powerbuilt Ruapuna, Christchurch on Saturday 1 October 2011 and the final round Three at Levels Raceway, Timaru on Saturday 15 October 2011.

The series has the most open eligibility rules of any class in NZ which ensures a wild range of man & machinery compete, yet with the series divided into 4 capacity based classes plus a separate class for the exotic GT cars, means that whatever the speed there are always great battles on the track, and the strategy element just adds to the thrill.

The Series is again also running its popular One hour race series in conjunction with its 2011 Series, with the 1hr & 3hr being held as separate races at each round. The separate One Hour race give those with less experience, lower budgets or just those wanting pre-season race miles a great opportunity to be part of the series and there will be separate overall & cc based class championships for the 1hr & 3hr series.
